VCAN Blinc 210 Flat Black Medium Full Modular Helmet with Crusader Graphics

Product Description

Stay in touch while riding the streets in style with the VCAN helmets. This 2nd generation full modular helmet comes fully equipped with improved Bluetooth 2.0 technology to insure compatibility with your Bluetooth enabled cell phone or iPhone. With two speakers, and up to 15 hours of continuous talk time and 600 hours of standby time, these helmets allow you to use your iPhone or standard cell phone, listen to stereo music streaming from your MP3, phone, or XM radio, as well as listen to GPS directions clearly (Incoming cell calls automatically override other communications, but the new call reject feature can limit interruptions). Combine two or more of these helmets, and enjoy communications from rider to passenger, and passenger to rider (intercom), or talk bike to bike (2-way communications within 10 meters). Other features include a noise cancelling mic, full duplex communications with DSP Filter, self adjusting volume, glove friendly and waterproof controls. Multifunction LED indicators let you know when your battery is low. When this occurs, simply use the 110 volt/220 volt charger included and you'll receive a full charge in just 6 hours. Though these helmets are hot on technology, the primary focus is safety. This DOT approved helmet is constructed of ultra light thermoplastic material and is aerodynamically shaped for ease of cutting through the air with less buffeting and wind noise, thus lessening the stress on the riders neck muscles after a long ride. The face cover lock mechanism exceeds expectations for safety by utilizing metal pins and hooks, making it extremely resistant to opening in the event of an accident. The flow through ventilation system helps keep you comfortable, while the anti-scratch, quick release and sun visors help keep your perspective clear. The inner lining is fully removable and washable. These helmets come in 5 different sizes and 3 different designs to fit you and your personality perfectly.

  • Lightweight and comfortable modular helmet with ABS thermoplastic shell and metal latch mechanism for increased safety
  • Bluetooth 2.0 enabled for cell phone and iPhone use, music streaming and clear GPS direction through dual speakers
  • DOT approved
  • Rechargeable lithium ion battery gives 30 hours of continuous talk time and up to 600 hours on standby with full recharge in just 6 hours with provided charger
  • Retractable sun visor included

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy, October 17, 2010

Was in two minds about this version of the BLuetooth as when I called VCAN sales, they said that it was double mono not stereo.. Turns out this version 2.0 is infact Stereo playback from both my LG Tritan 840 and the Ipod Touch 2nd Gen.
The MP3 volume is great up to about 70mph on a Touring bike. Cell phone Volume is a little too low above 50. I understand that the Version 3.0 is better when it comes out later next year.
The intercom between rider and passenger takes about 3 seconds to connect but is full duplex.
I would say the Cell phone use is great round town where wind noise is lower due to lower speeds.
Comfort is fantastic.. Helmet is well constructed. The secondary slide down sun visor is very helpful even when heading into the low fall sun.

Only real problem with this model is a slight rattle at speed from the top vent when closed. I'll probably cut small square of felt and slip it into place to stop the rattle.
Certainly well worth the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Helmet!, April 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: VCAN Blinc 210 Flat Black Medium Full Modular Helmet with Crusader Graphics (Automotive)
To keep it short and sweet, this helmet is awesome for summer use!

Speakers work great for streaming music off MP3 enabled with bluetooth. I have an adroid phone, that once paired, takes a few seconds to link. Battery life is amazing! Comes with a charger, advise charging after every other ride.

Can't hear low volume music on my 600 Honda Shadow once I'm over 50mph, but almost all rock can be heard all the way to 70mph!

Very noisey though. Almost no complete seal is made and wind gets through easily. This does make it very well "vented" however it eliminates any use during the winter, and any phone use you may wish for unless in town.

The drop-down sunglasses are fantastic!

The hemlet does have some weight to it due to the electronics, but nothing worth worrying about when making the purchase. Only took about 4 days for me to receive in the mail after odering and no issues with any part of the helmet after owning for a year now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great helmet if you have a thick neck!, September 6, 2011

This review is from: VCAN Blinc 210 Flat Black Medium Full Modular Helmet with Crusader Graphics (Automotive)
I bought this helmet from Amazon. Took me a while to figure out witch one's had dual speakers(the ones w/bluetooth 2.0).
Great helmet for the price, tons of features, but way too heavy. I only way 150 lbs. so maybe weight's more important to me than some but this helmet hurt my neck after 10min. I will never buy a modular again. I'm looking at Oneal's element bluetooth helmet now, gotta find some specs on the weight though I def. want a full face helmet!

Great helmet and works good; however, can't get the skip song to work. Callers say they can hear well when talking to them via bluetooth even at high speeds.

Amazon.com Product Description

The SMH10 is a Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR Class 1 Stereo Headset with long-range Bluetooth Intercom designed specifically for motorcycles. With the SMH10, you can call hands-free on your Bluetooth mobile phone, listen to stereo music or voice instructions of GPS navigations by Bluetooth wirelessly, and have intercom conversations in full duplex with a passenger or other motorcycle riders.

Thanks to the latest Bluetooth v2.1 and the advanced digital processing technology, the SMH10 offers the best sound quality for both incoming and outgoing sound in its class. Also, the easy-to-access and intuitive button operations make the SMH10 a perfect companion for motorcycles.

Bluetooth v2.1 Wireless

SHM10 can wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth devices supporting HSP/HFP (Headset Profile/Hands Free Profile) and A2DP (Advance Audio Distribution Profile). HSP/HFP is standard in all phones with Bluetooth features. Almost all Bluetooth MP3 players, smartphone, and audio dongles support A2DP to send stereo audio to Bluetooth headsets like like the Sena SMH10. Enjoy Bluetooth music playback control by AVRCP: play, pause, track forward and track back.

Other Bluetooth features include Multi-Pair to allow intercom functionality for 4 persons, and compatibility with select motorcycle GPS systems.

Individual Adjustable Volume Profiles

You can easily decrease/increase the volume of the voice, music and intercom using Jog Dial. The SMH10 can save volume levels of previously connected profiles. This means that phone volume (HSP/HFP), music volume (A2DP), and intercom volumes will be saved separately and return to its own saved volume level whenever associated profile is reconnected.

Profile volume adjustment is only affected during the use of its specific profile. However, when changing volume during standby mode, then volume change applies to all profiles. Alert tones like low battery warning and connection tones can only be adjusted in standby mode.

Easy Installation for Most Helmets

The SMH10 will fit onto various types of helmets. The standard clamp, included in default packaging, will fit onto most helmets. For installations which may require extra wire length, ear buds instead of speakers, and wire microphone instead of boom microphone, Sena offers different types of clamps as an additional accessory (sold separately), to allow various installations and user preferences.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good., January 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
Haven't had much chance to test out the SMH10 due to the chilled weather in the east, but it is ready to go and I do have an early impression. The unit attached to my Shoe fullface helmet fairly easily, although it does not sit flush. It projects out about an 1/8th of an inch from the side of the helmet. Still a very solid mount. All wires tucked away very nicely. Very easy to sync the Bluetooth to my Garmin 550 and iPhone. THE ORDER IN WHICH YOU TURN ON THE DEVICES DOES MATTER. You must have the iPhone turned off when connecting the SMH10 to the Garmin. After the connection is made, turn on the iPhone. With this sequence all functions work perfectly. When connecting to the iPhone first then the Garmin, I loose all audio and communication functions. Once properly connected the SMH10's performance is outstanding. Very clear and loud (fully adjustable). GPS instructions very clear. MP3 from iPhone just as clear. Talking on phone, more of the same. Comments from the other... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to cut the wires!, January 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
After trying various ear buds, etc, to get audio into my HJC Open Face Helmet, I gave up and decided to cut the wires. Purchased a single Sena SMH10 after reading reviews on webBike World [...] and here on Amazon. I'm glad I did. Unit clamped onto the helmet securely and speakers settled nicely into the pockets of the HJC. No velcro was needed. I mainly want this unit for music that is streamed from an Ipod 3G Touch. Turned on the Bluetooth setting on the Ipod, switched on the Sena power, set the Sena unit into pairing mode and bingo....both units paired up. Turned on the music from the Ipod and all I can say is WOW....great stereo sound in my helmet. No drops, hiss or static....just good clean sound. And what a great feature.....rotate the knob on the Sena unit, and volume goes up or down. Skipping to the next song is easy to. I won't be pairing a phone to the Sena anytime soon, or communicating with my riding buddies, none have this device, so can't comment on the effectiveness of... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous headset - even after crash, July 6, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This was exactly the item my husband had been looking for. It is the perfect bluetooth headset addition for his motorcycling gear. He had no trouble at all getting it hooked up to his helmet and synced with his phone. He just loves it. It was the perfect Father's Day present. And it is very well made and sturdy as well. He had a minor accident shortly after receiving this and even though he landed on his head and rolled a bit, the headset still works perfectly and doesn't show any signs of damage. (He's fine, as well! Thanks to all the protective gear he always wears.) We would definitely recommend this to everyone we know.
